Hello Pals
Was sup??
I took yesterday off as we had a pooja at our home, not pooja actually, it was the ninth day of navratri (the nine day fast festival of Navratri is celebrated in the honor of Goddess Durga) so mom told me to stay at home to help her. i woke up at crazy 5 AM :(
So tomorrow is a very important day guys, Election Day, and promise me that you guys WILL VOTE. My office will be close tommorow, have to come on friday only :)
Won't drag this post too long, will keep it sweet and simple.
So today's topic is "Pickleball", cute name, no?
Pickleball, a racket sport, is played with a paddle on a court or in the yard which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis and ping-pong. It can be played both indoor and outdoor by two or four players.
The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a badminton court. The pickleball court is similar to a doubles badminton court. The actual size of the court is 20×44 feet for both doubles and singles. The width and length of net are 3 feet and 22 feet. The racket is similar to table tennis bat with bigger size. This is also known as mini tennis, which is ideal for fitness and eye coordination.
The scoring system is identical to badminton where only the team that is serving (an underhand lob or drive stroke used to put a ball into play at the beginning of a point) can score points. A player may enter the non-volley zone (a seven-foot area adjacent to the net within which you may not volley the ball. The non-volley zone includes all lines around it) to play a ball that bounces, and may stay there to play balls that bounce. The player must exit the non-volley zone before playing a volley (to hit the ball before it bounces). The first side scoring 11 points and leading by at least two points wins.
Additional Rules:
Hope you enjoyed this post :)
Have a great week ahead :)
